Dear Old Lyme Beach Residents,

We have been working on a book and exhibit about the beaches for the Old Lyme Historical Society.  Now that
many of our Summer neighbors have returned, we would like to ask you to spread the word among your
association members who might like to contribute to this project.

We already have a wonderful selection of postcards and ephemera, and plenty of material from 1935-on, but
we would like to be able to include more personal family photos or accounts of life at the shore between the
years 1880 and 1935. We are particularly interested in pre-1935  photos or film/movies of beach activities
such as the baseball teams (each beach had a team, and the rivalries played out along the shoreline all
summer long); regattas, parades, and the like. Pre-1935 photos or ephemera depicting the dancehall,
minstrel shows or theatres, and any other prohibition-era materials would be most welcome, as would early
photos of noted people such as Bruce Bradbury, Dan Doyle, HN Lincoln, Al Gentile, DS Case, Harry Hilliard,
PJ Breen, PJ Finley, etc.

The book release and exhibit are tentatively scheduled for early July, so we would need all materials by the
end of May.

We can be reached at 860 434 4669, or by email at the address above. Thank you very much for any
assistance you can provide.

Best,
Michaelle Pearson
