REGULATIONS
(State, Town and Association)
In order to provide maximum enjoyment and safety of Old Lyme Shores Beach Association, (OLSBA); it is incumbent
upon each association member, their guests and renters to adhere to OLS Beach Association rules and
regulations. Owners and their representatives, please ensure that these simple rules are followed, so that we can
all enjoy our Beach Community. Please think twice about your actions and how they might affect your neighbor’s
enjoyment of OLS.

Details of the Old Lyme Beach Association Regulations are as follows:
Traffic/Speed Limit Rules:
A. Speed Limit is 15MPH at OLS. No exceptions! The Association and Old Lyme Police will strictly enforce this rule if
necessary. You and your Child’s Safety are paramount.
B. Speed gates will be strategically placed on roads
to ensure slow movement of traffic. Please be considerate and patient.
No eating/drinking on the Beach or Seawall area, except for water bottles.
Animals:
A. Dogs must be leashed within the Association boundaries.
B. Dog Owners must remove their Animal droppings. Violators will be subject to Association fines, not to exceed
$50.00.
C. No Dogs, Cats or other Animals allowed on the Beach during June, July, August and September.
Ball and Frisbee throwing on Beach are limited
to the Beach tidal waters until 6pm, at which time use on the Beach is permissible. This rule is in effect, July and
August. For everyone safety and enjoyment please be considerate.
Parking Rules:
A. No parking on OLS roads-This is a safety issue for walkers and emergency vehicles. No exceptions! Park on
your own property.
B. No parking at the Beach.
C. No parking on Recreation field without prior Board of Governors approval.
Trash and Refuse:
A. Place covered trash receptacles at edge of property on pre-designated pick up dates.
B. Do not leave trash anywhere else in OLS, except
pre-designated receptacles at Beach and remove grass clippings from road.
Bonfires and Fireworks are not permitted within
OLSBA boundaries.
Excessive noise or disturbances are not allowed
in OLSBA. If persistent, Old Lyme Police will be notified.
Campers, Tents, Storage Trailers, etc are not
permitted within the boundaries OLSBA. Unoccupied trailers may be parked on owner’s property, October through
May only.
Vehicles:
A. Motorcycles, Mopeds, Go-carts or unregistered power vehicles are not allowed on Association roads for intra-
association transportation.
B. Unregistered vehicles are not permitted in
OLSBA boundaries.
C. Vehicles are not permitted on the Beach, except maintenance/emergency vehicles.
D. Sleeping in vehicles is not permitted within OLSBA.
Signage:
A. Tradesman and Real Estate signs are not permitted during July and August, except during open houses.
B. Tradesman and Real Estate signs must be displayed
from within the home, through a window.
Fraternities/Sororities are not permitted within OLS.
Construction/remodeling is not permitted during July and August, except for emergency repair. OLS Board of
Governors must approve.
Shrubbery/Fencing must not inhibit the view of
motorists at OLSBA. Shrubs and obstructions must be trimmed or removed at owners expense.
A. Fencing must not inhibit property owner’s views within OLS, including the Beach and Water. Fences cannot
exceed 3 feet where they can inhibit views or where they border OLS roads.
B. Between properties the maximum height is 6 feet, where they border contiguous land of owners. Not OLS roads.
Solicitation is not permitted within OLSBA, no exceptions.
Boats/Watercraft:
A. Boats are not allowed in OLS swimming areas.
B. Boats may be moored at the end of Seaspray road or beyond OLS swimming areas.
C. Loading and unloading of Powerboats is permitted at
the end of Seaspray road.
D. Non Powerboats maybe loaded and unloaded at the Billow road water lane.
E. Catamarans, sailboats, canoes, sea kayaks may be
stored at the end of Billow road beach/seawall area or up against the seawall at the end of Saltaire Road. Jet Skis
adhere to Powerboat rules.
